Moto X3M: Spooky Land

racing

A Halloween Moto X3M, raced against your own clock

Moto X3M: Spooky Land is MadPuffers' Halloween edition of the Moto X3M series, released in October 2019. It has 22 levels, each a single track of ramps and traps between you and a finish line, and nothing else to collect. That makes the whole game one question: how fast can you get there?

Stars depend only on your finish time. Style only counts for what it does to the clock. Getting to the end is the easy part; getting there quickly enough for three stars is the actual game.

Controls

W or the up arrow accelerates, and S or the down arrow brakes. A and D, or the left and right arrows, lean the bike: right tips it forward onto the front wheel, left tips it back onto the rear wheel. The same lean keys are how you flip in the air.

Where the seconds actually go

The timer starts the moment the level does. Hesitating at the start line is time you never get back, so be on the gas immediately.

A crash does not end the level. You come back at the last checkpoint, but the clock never stopped, so every fall costs the seconds you spent getting there again. If you crash early on a short track, restarting is often faster than recovering.

Each front or back flip in the air takes 0.5 seconds off your time. On a long jump that is worth doing; on a short hop, a flip you cannot finish turns into a crash and costs far more than it saved. The rule of thumb is to flip only when you can see the landing and still have height to spare.

Reading a Spooky Land track

Holding full throttle the whole way is the usual mistake. The traps are timed and placed for a rider arriving at a particular speed, so the fast line is often easing off before a hazard and accelerating after it, rather than arriving early and getting caught.

Land with the bike level. A bike still tipped forward or back when it touches down is the landing most likely to throw you. Tap the lean keys in short presses in the air instead of holding them.

Learn a track before racing it. The first run is for finding where the traps are; the runs after that are for shaving time. If a level will not give you three stars, the guide for this game has a full run of every level so you can see where the time is made.

Facts on this page were cross-checked against the Poki page for this game, CrazyGames, and Poki's page for the original Moto X3M from the same developer. Where a detail comes from the original rather than Spooky Land, it is one the two pages agree on.

Frequently asked questions

How many levels does Moto X3M Spooky Land have?
22. Every one is a single track from start line to finish. Videos labelled level 29 or 32 come from the separate Moto X3M Bike Race Game app, which numbers its own Spooky Land levels differently.
How do I get three stars?
Finish faster. Stars depend only on your finish time, so three stars means a clean run with no crashes, flips on the long jumps, and no time lost waiting at the start.
Do flips make you faster?
Each front or back flip in the air takes 0.5 seconds off your time. That only helps if you land it. A flip that ends in a crash sends you back to the last checkpoint while the clock keeps running.
What happens when I crash?
The level does not end. You restart from the last checkpoint, but the timer keeps going, which is why one crash can cost a star. On a short track, restarting the level can be quicker than carrying on.
What are the controls?
W or the up arrow to accelerate, S or the down arrow to brake, and A and D or the left and right arrows to lean the bike back and forward. Leaning in the air is how you flip.
Who made Moto X3M Spooky Land?
MadPuffers, the studio behind the Moto X3M series, as a Halloween edition in October 2019. You play it here in the browser through our licensed game feed, with nothing to download. It suits a wide screen.
